Good Beginnings is a non-denominational quality preschool program offered to children ages three, four and five. About Us Good Beginnings Preschool was founded over 20 years ago as an answer to a community need for a quality preschool and child care program. Since then, Good Beginnings has built an excellent reputation, giving children a secure, nurturing foundation for academic and social growth in a warm and loving environment. Over the past 20 years, Good Beginnings has become a landmark in the community and we are glad to be a familiar face in the growing community of Hollidaysburg. With the support of a Board of Directors and a dedicated parent volunteer group, Good Beginnings will continue to educate and care for young children for many generations to come. Our Teacher's Assistant Christine Davies "Miss Chris" joins Good Beginnings as an assistant teacher. She has over eight years experience working in a private school with preschool children. She has a BA degree from Elizabethtown College. Prior to her working in a preschool , she was a stay at home mom, raising towo children. She has been married to her huaband, Dave for twenty-three years. She looks forward to an exciting and fun year at Good Beginnings working with the new director/teacher, Mrs. Lisa Parnell Program InformationGood Beginnings Preschool's curriculum goals advance as the students grow and learn; the foundations started in the three-year-old program evolve into the more academic four-year-old program. We teach: Pre-Reading Skills Social Interaction Counting/Number Recognition Music Appreciation Gross Motor & Large Group Activities Art Click here to "Peek into our Day" for the month of November All subjects are taught at a pre-kindergarten level. Creative learning is used for all ages to develop creative expression using music, arts and crafts. The creative learning crosses the curriculum into color, shape, size, patterning, sequencing, math and other learning areas, including development of fine motor skills. Gross motor skills are developed during indoor movement lessons.
